Parents: Summer Camp Registration Opens Tomorrow

Don't miss this one.
The Township's priority registration for summer day camps and general recreation programs opens Friday, April 10 at noon at tol.ca/recregister.
The good news: the Township has finally fixed the chaotic registration experience. A new virtual waiting room launches this year. Log in between 11:45 a.m. and 11:59 a.m. to be randomly assigned a place in queue when registration opens at noon. Once it's your turn, you'll have 20 minutes to complete your transaction.
No more refreshing the browser and losing your spot. Set your alarm, log in early, and breathe.
Restaurant of The Week
Wabi Sabi Sushi
If you've been looking for a sushi, here it is. I genuinely enjoy it more than any of the premium sushi spots in the Lower Mainland at a fraction of the cost.

Tucked into Fort Langley, Wabi Sabi Sushi is built around the Japanese philosophy of beauty in imperfection, and that comes through in everything from the serene space to the artfully plated dishes.
My all-time favorites: Salmon Oshi Roll, Prawn Tempura, Chef’s Soul Roll.
There's also a photo booth near the exit, spotless facilities, and staff that genuinely seem to enjoy being there, which goes a long way.
Find them at 103, 23160 96 Ave in Fort Langley. Open today noon to 8 p.m., Friday and Saturday until 9.

Tonight: Have Your Say on Willoughby’s Future

Source: Township of Langley
This one is time-sensitive.
The Township is holding the first of two open houses tonight on the updated Willoughby Community Plan, from 4 to 8 p.m. at Yorkson Creek Middle School, 20686 84 Avenue. A second session follows on Tuesday, April 14 from 4 to 8 p.m. at Langley Events Centre.
The plan centres on what Willoughby looks like as the Bus Rapid Transit line along 200 Street and the future SkyTrain connection take shape. These are the decisions that determine whether your neighbourhood gets the density right, or doesn't. Ninety minutes well spent if you live in or near Willoughby.
An online feedback form also opens today at tol.ca.

We've had a lot of people ask where to find a good cup around town. Here's the running list, organized by where you are.
Fort Langley
Bar Down Bakery: A family-run bakery that started at local markets and now has its own spot in Fort Langley. Famous for their brookies (brownie + cookie hybrids) and handcrafted specialty drinks. Try this: the brookie and a birthday cake latte.
Saba Cafe: A Fort Langley institution with a heated outdoor courtyard that locals have been coming back to for years. Try this: a latte and the upside-down orange cake.
Latimer Village
Blacksmith Bakery: Artisan pastries baked fresh daily, with espresso made from Republica beans. Try this: the cappuccino and a Victoria sponge cake.
Willoughby
Cortado Cafe: A neighbourhood favourite with baristas who genuinely know their craft. Try this: the cortado and any of the freshly baked pastries, especially the cream cheese croissant.
Walnut Grove
Victory Coffee + Kitchen: A social enterprise that hires people with employment barriers and gives back to the community. The food rivals restaurants costing twice as much. Try this: a latte and the eggs benedict.
Langley City
Projekt + Blend: A Filipino-owned hidden gem on Fraser Highway with a creative menu that goes well beyond standard cafe fare. Try this: the pistachio matcha latte and the blueberry cream cheese croissant.
Brookswood
Cravings Coffee and Bakery: A warm local spot in the heart of Brookswood Village, known for consistent quality and staff who remember your order. Try this: the mocha and a baked good of the day.
