64th Annual Langley Walk - Next Sunday
(Register + Mark your Calendars)

The 64th annual Langley Walk is a free 5km walk along the Brae Island trails in Fort Langley. Every participant who finishes gets a commemorative crest - and the design changes every single year.
There are families in this community who have been collecting those crests for decades. Some of them have the whole wall covered.
The trail runs flat along the Fraser River with mountain views on a clear day - one of the genuinely nicest easy walks in the Lower Mainland. It's right in our backyard and most people have never done it.
The warm-up starts at 12:30 pm, with the 5km walk beginning at 1 pm. Strollers and wheelchairs are welcome on the course. Dogs are allowed but must be on leash. The event runs rain or shine. Bring a water bottle, dress in layers, and plan to spend a proper Sunday afternoon out in Fort Langley.
P.S. Share this with someone who's been meaning to get outside more. This is the perfect excuse.
This spot is unsponsored and honestly a little embarrassed about it. If you run a business in Langley, let's talk by replying to this email 🙂
The revenue will help us build a proper events calendar for the whole community!
Fort Langley Lawn Bowling Season is Back at Douglas Park

The Langley Lawn Bowling Club just launched its 2026 season, and if you've ever walked past the green at Douglas Park wondering what exactly is going on, now's your chance to find out.
The club was started in 1979 by a group of local bowlers who were tired of driving to Surrey for a game and decided Langley deserved its own. Forty-five years later, it's still going strong at 20471 54th Ave.
Here's what surprised me the most: it's not easy. The club's president describes it as a game you can pick up in an hour but spend a lifetime mastering. The balls are weighted to one side so they travel in arcs rather than straight line, and the grass itself changes throughout a match as moisture and dew dry out, making every game a little different.
Think curling, but outdoors and in the sun.
Drop-in sessions run Mondays, Thursdays, and Fridays at 6:15 pm right through the end of September. All you need for your first couple of years is a flat-soled shoe, the club has balls you can borrow.
No experience needed. All ages welcome. Learn more here.
Langley Raised $3,500 for Hawaii - With Ukuleles

This one is worth celebrating.
The Langley Ukulele Association organized two fundraising concerts - "Pacific Voices for O'ahu" - after flooding devastated communities on O'ahu's North Shore this spring. The LUA has been travelling to Hawaii every year for over 30 years and had close friends directly impacted by the disaster.
The two concerts raised $3,500 for flood relief. The venues donated the space. The students donated their talent. The association donated its time.
LUA president Peter Luongo wrote in a letter published this week: "The spirit of Aloha is truly alive and well in our community."
Hard to argue with that. Well done, Langley. 🤙
